What material is a paintball mask made of?

March 10th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

I am a hobbyist and make helmets (405th.com). I was wondering if anyone knew what material paintball masks are made of and if it is easily available.

Injection molded polyethelene for the hard plastic bits. For the flex masks they use a hard rubber compound or a softer polymer.

There are a number of materials that a heat formable that you could purchase but bear in mind that they would not be safety tested or rated (even though they may meet the criteria). At the very least, build your face shield around a set of existing and approved paintball goggles.

I have a big head what paintball mask will comfortably fit me?

March 08th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

Like i said, i have a big head and i have trouble finding sunglasses as well as paintball masks. I have a jt mask that just doesnt fit, the foam is hard and cant even make a seal. Is there a flexible mask or something.? i also want a quality mask not some generic cheapo that fits anybody.

JT does make a flex mask – The JT Flex. Try Scott – They used to make the Bad Ass which was pretty big. I too have a big noggin and the bottom of my chin tends to hang out a bit. The JT Thermal masks also have softer foam unlike their single pane units.

Good luck.

Dual Turbo Fans Paintball Mask Custom Made, Re-edited for YouTube

March 07th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

This is the original Dual Turbo Fans Paintball Mask Custom Made I re-edited and removed all the music because youtube pulled the other audio clip on my original post of this, because I received so many requests to put another version up and restore the audio here it is, the original minus the AB Rangers audio clip in the beginning and the Bad Company audio in the end, note the bad company clip was about 20 seconds long or so, a real threat to youtube and WMG’s profit margin.

And I must add to this that as for the battery box if you don’t want to mess with that little screw that holds the main battery box onto the mount attached to the helmet you can just use a strip of black electrical tape and run it around the outside edge of the battery box, that holds the two together nicely:)

Here’s a short video on how to install your own mini fans to defog your paintball mask without having to spend 20 to 30 dollars to buy a pre-made one that don’t fit right. The fans are 25mm x 25mm x 10mm, 5 volt, the part number they go by is: # AFB02505MA just put that part number into your favorite search engine and you will see all kinds of links, they sell for about $3.99 to $5.99 each if you search around a bit.

What is the difference between an Airsoft Mask and a Paintball mask?

March 06th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

I bought a paintball mask thinking it would be the same as an airsoft and now with the mask on it is so bulky that i can’t see down my sites. Are airsoft masks more slimmer so the user is able to do look down the sites.

That’s honestly about the main difference. Paintball masks are made to take a harder impact hence their bulkyness, Airsoft masks only have to stop small BBs from hitting you so less is required for their construction.

Airsoft masks are usually slimmer and fit closer to the face since they don’t have to brace as much for an impact.

Masks in general do make it harder to look down sights, but once you learn to compensate, it becomes second nature. The general trick is to position your head a little further back than you usually would.

what are pevs rules on paintball masks? can i just where goggels or what bc i want to make a custom mask?

March 04th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

from a midevil helmet

If you play any official games or tournaments and your paintball approved mask is tampered in any way then that mask is considered unsafe and will not be allowed to be used. (you also cannot just bring just any goggles, it has to be paintball approved, even if it is a ballistic goggle)

However if you are just playing with buddies and friends then do whatever you like it is your own risk. Some fields might even let you go on using your modified mask.

Remember the official standpoint though.

Tips for selling your used paintball guns, masks and tank

March 01st, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

This video covers the BEST WAY to sell your used gear, and get the most amount of money for it.

EDIT: When I talk about beign scammed, I’m talking about getting a gun that wasn’t as described. Either it was broken, it had issues that weren’t disclosed, it was in worst shape than described, or had different parts than the picture. I shipped out a working gun, and got a broken gun.

1) Keep the box, manual, orings, lube, tools etc in the box. NEVER THROW AWAY THE BOX!!!

2) If you put aftermarket parts on your gun, ALWAYS save the stock parts. When you go to sell it, put the stock parts back on, and sell the aftermarket parts SEPERATELY

3) Sell everything on ebay! Don’t try to sell gear on PBNation or other forums. You’ll either get ripped off, lowballed, or scammed. When I put something up on ebay, I get PAID in 7 to 10 days! I see threads on PBNation up for almost 2 months! Hundreds of posts of just garbage!

4) Another reason you don’t want to sell on PBNation is because if you take good care of your gear like I do, the mods are just going to delete your thread because it looks “Brand New”. Yea no dickhead it looks brand new, I take care of it! The only way to sell your gun on PBNation is to make it look broken, scratched or abused. that, you’re looking for top dollar, go ebay

5) Make a video of the gun shooting, trust me it works wonders

6) For those that still think PBNation is the best way to trade guns, It takes me 10 minutes to put an auction up on Ebay. How much time do you waste between up’ing your thread, answering PM’s, trying to figure out who ships first, seeing if the other person will add, and having to rejust multiple offers?

Ebay = 10 minutes to list, paid in 7 days
PBNation = go see for yourself

Enjoy!
