Do the expensive paintball masks really fog less than the cheaper ones?

Category: paintball masks

they do if they have thermal double paned lenses, but you can get a jt mask w/ thermal lenses @ walmart for 40 bucks

    not rly

as long as you have a tight seal around your eyes, you should be fine. I also use an anti-fog lense which completely removes all fogging problems.

btw im using a 20 quid mask, proto switch or something

Expensive masks have either dual-pane lenses (JT Spectra series, which includes the Flex’s, and Dye masks) or treated lenses (VForce, Empire). On cheap mask lenses, there’s usually no treatments or dual panes, just plain single pane lenses.

Preventing fog is never really 100%. It all depends on how humid it is, how much you sweat & how long you play. When i had my VForce Grill, i could play normal speedball games & never fog up. But long recball games, like 20 min, i noticed a little fogging in the corners of the lens.

There’s other factors that make the more expensive masks worth it. They’re generally lighter, more comfortable, have better breathability & are made from rubbery materials, which occasionally get bounces (meaning mask hits sometimes won’t break, keeping you in the game longer).

I’ve tried, used & owned on all sorts of masks.
