What is the difference between an Airsoft Mask and a Paintball mask?

Category: paintball masks

I bought a paintball mask thinking it would be the same as an airsoft and now with the mask on it is so bulky that i can’t see down my sites. Are airsoft masks more slimmer so the user is able to do look down the sites.

That’s honestly about the main difference. Paintball masks are made to take a harder impact hence their bulkyness, Airsoft masks only have to stop small BBs from hitting you so less is required for their construction.

Airsoft masks are usually slimmer and fit closer to the face since they don’t have to brace as much for an impact.

Masks in general do make it harder to look down sights, but once you learn to compensate, it becomes second nature. The general trick is to position your head a little further back than you usually would.

If you play airsoft just screw the mask and use a pair of goggles!

Ya, airsoft masks are just slimmed paintball masks…there really is no difference other then that. I use a paintball mask because they are certified for high fps hits, but then I give up the ability to use standard sights…I have an elevated scope for my M14 so It doesnt get in the way.

i agree with the goggles idea
you can see down your barrel much better but you sacrifice "safety"
i shot a kid twice in the face when he was wearing goggles and he started bleeding so… it depends how often you get shot lol
they also have airsoft masks that are like metal mesh for the lense to u dont fog up or get sun glare they are nice too

I use masks for my airsoft games. Brought a paintball mask once and ran into the same problem.
