Dual Turbo Fans Paintball Mask Custom Made, Re-edited for YouTube

March 07th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

This is the original Dual Turbo Fans Paintball Mask Custom Made I re-edited and removed all the music because youtube pulled the other audio clip on my original post of this, because I received so many requests to put another version up and restore the audio here it is, the original minus the AB Rangers audio clip in the beginning and the Bad Company audio in the end, note the bad company clip was about 20 seconds long or so, a real threat to youtube and WMG’s profit margin.

And I must add to this that as for the battery box if you don’t want to mess with that little screw that holds the main battery box onto the mount attached to the helmet you can just use a strip of black electrical tape and run it around the outside edge of the battery box, that holds the two together nicely:)

Here’s a short video on how to install your own mini fans to defog your paintball mask without having to spend 20 to 30 dollars to buy a pre-made one that don’t fit right. The fans are 25mm x 25mm x 10mm, 5 volt, the part number they go by is: # AFB02505MA just put that part number into your favorite search engine and you will see all kinds of links, they sell for about $3.99 to $5.99 each if you search around a bit.

Are paintball masks bullet proof?

February 11th, 2010 | Category: paintball masks

We tested to see if paintball masks are bullet proof.

OK, so the myth(perpetuated by crap like this http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2395940) is that some mask’s lenses are bullet proof. I first heard this rumor years ago about the then new JT Spectra thermal lenses back in the day and have heard it about several mask since then most recently the V-force Profiler and Grill. Usually these claims are at insanly close ranges and include pictures of somesort that could have been hit with about anything.

Well, I’ve got alot of old masks, spare lenses, guns, and ammo so I’m going to test it out.
We’ll start off with a 9mm 147gr fmj round from the fabled 5′ mark with the mask placed on a melon then record the result. We’ll then experiment with other calibers and ranges with the extra lenses we have(we’ve got ALOT of profiler lenses). Right now it looks like we’ll be using the Ventz thermal lens, JT elite, JT spectra, V-force Armor, and V-force Profiler. For a clip of an actual Grill lens getting shot and failing go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHbRqB_pF7g They say the bullet couldn’t fit thru the hole as its too small, but if you look at the damage to my masks in this video and the small hole in theirs its very much the same exit hole, the polycarbonate closes back up somewhat making the exit hole rather small.

My test is not the most scentific out there, it was instead something I wanted to do myself and filmed on request of some other players. If you want to see some actual science in the paintball world support Cockerpunk and brycelarson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgEjkDaebTs.

We accidently cut out its intro, but the gun fired after the .22 was a .25.

Thanks for watching
